Hi all. I'm back from my trip to New York for the ATWT fan club luncheon. A big round of applause goes Mindi and the fan club for all of the hard work they put into making such a wonderful event. I can't imagine the amount of planning it takes each year to put this event together. If you have not attended one of these events, I can tell you, you must plan to do so next year!
The doors opened an hour before lunch and they have tons of raffle items including clothes worn by the actors, props (Ali & Chris' wedding glasses, photos of Lily & Holden from their living room), lots of signed photos, scripts (I was lucky enough to win one of them!), a Street Jeans poster, studio tours, and many more wonderful items.
We then had lunch. After lunch, Michael Park and Martha Byrne came in to the small stage they had set up and welcomed everyone. They then introduced the cast members starting with the younger actors. Mark Collier (Mike) was razzed by Martha Byrne about his Street Jeans ad campaign.
After the actors were introduced, they went to tables around the perimeter of the room and sat and signed autographs. I can tell you I have never met a more gracious and kind bunch of individuals in my life. After giving up an entire Saturday afternoon, the actors were kind to everyone and smiling away, even though they had to be exhausted from working all week. What a truly amazing bunch of people.
In attendance (in alphabetical order) were: Martha Byrne (Lily),
Giovani Antonio Cimmino (Parker),
Mark Collier (Mike), Terri Colombino (Katie), Trent Dawson (Henry),
Alyssa Diaz (Celia),
Jessica Dunphy (Ali), Jennifer Ferrin (Jen), Jon Hensley (Holden), Anthony Herrera (James),
Cassidy Hinkle (Faith),
Elizabeth Hubbard (Lucinda),
Jennifer Landon (Gwen),
Marie Masters (Susan), Michael Park (Jack),
(Casey), Jesse Soffer (Will), Jake Weary (Luke), Maura West (Carly). Grayson McCouch popped in for the last few minutes of the event as well.
Terri Colombino made a special request for all fans to participate in the Walk the Walk benefit being held on Sunday, May 15 in Valhalla, NY to support the
Maria Fareri Children's Hospital
which took care of one of Terri's family members. Terri, along with several other ATWT cast members, will be participating in this event. For more info on how you can participate or support this worthy charitable event, click here.
I also had the opportunity to attend the dinner at Grayson McCouch's acting studio. He has a beautiful studio in Manhattan: white walls with exposed brick beams. The walls are covered with photos from Grayson's other acting projects. We were stuck in traffic getting there and missed Grayson's Hamlet monolog. Grayson was circulating throughout the room which had been beautifully decorated. Grayson personally was playing DJ and was entertaining us with his favorite John Coltrane CD. Unfortunately, Grayson was feeling under the weather and had to leave a bit early, but not before impressing all of us with the intensity of his personal convictions. Regrettably, there was no opportunity to get a photo of Grayson, so my new camera memory stick went home empty from the event.
But, I'm guessing what you really want is to see the stars. so here they are. A preliminary caveat: I borrowed a camera for the event. You can see the camera, combined with the lighting at the hotel meeting room, took lousy long distance shots. The close ups turned out great, and I can tell you that all of the actors look even better in person than they do on TV. Click on each thumbnail photo for a larger version of the photo.
